About

Portrait of Davey Patacsil

Hi, I'm Davey — a program manager and communications strategist who came up through marketing.

I started in digital marketing at BPM Music, running campaigns across paid, email, and social for a subscription platform built for working DJs — audience growth targets, A/B tests, and enough hours in Google Analytics and Meta Ads Manager to know what a real number looks like. At Comic-Con International I built a national membership program from nothing and raised over $1M in its first year, on omnichannel campaigns and large-scale events with immovable deadlines.

That grounding still shapes how I run programs. I start with the audience instead of the announcement, test the message instead of assuming it, and measure what actually happened. What changed is who's on the other end — engineers, stakeholders, executives — and that the deliverable is usually a system rather than a campaign.

Most of my job now is connecting dots: the handoff between two teams, the decision that never got written down, the process everyone works around instead of fixing. I build the systems that close those gaps, then get out of the way.

I'm also interested in how far AI can take the parts of the job that don't need a human. I've built agent-powered CRM workflows, automated data hygiene, and dashboards that assemble themselves — which is less about the technology than about what it buys back: time for the judgment calls and the relationships.

Outside the work: street photography, travel, drumming, and cooking. Ten years in tech came after a decade around music and fandom, which is probably why the communities I build feel more like scenes than mailing lists.

Selected Work

Five programs, each with a problem I inherited, a system I built to fix it, and a number attached.

Comms Operations Systems

Program operations ran on manual spreadsheet hygiene and status-chasing, which meant reporting was always a week behind the work. I rebuilt the back end: agent-powered CRM workflows, automated data hygiene, and daily dashboards that assemble themselves.

Recurring manual reporting cycles eliminated, and stakeholder updates moved from retrospective to same-day.

Global RolloutIntuit

Global Knowledge Platform

Institutional knowledge lived in individual heads and dead Slack threads, and every new hire paid for it. I own the rollout and governance of Stack Overflow Enterprise across a global organization — adoption plan, content standards, moderation norms, onboarding paths.

10,000+ articles shared across teams, with a documented governance model that runs without me in the room.

An issue of the Developer Digest newsletter
Internal CommsIntuit

Developer Digest

Announcements were scattered across wikis, Slack, and all-hands decks, so the people who needed them missed them. I built one segmented newsletter for the whole tech ecosystem — editorial calendar, intake process, curation standards, analytics — plus the governance that keeps it useful.

50% open rate and 10% CTR across thousands of recipients, sustained above internal benchmarks.

Communications and operations roles hire on the same evidence: what you write, and what you leave behind so the next person can run it without you.

Thank you for quickly coming up with a strategy and driving the newsletter to the first issue. Gathering feedback from so many stakeholders was quite stressful, and you did a great job at making sure everyone felt heard.
